Homework

The Simi Valley Unified School District recommends that high school students spend an hour to two hours each school night doing homework, preparing for tests, working on projects or papers, or reading.  If students don't have a specific assignment to work on, they can do the following:

  • Review/re-write notes taken in class.
  • Re-read the chapter currently being taught.
  • Preview the next chapter.
  • Plan for upcoming projects.
  • Practice vocabulary words.
  • Read a novel or book of interest.
If students set aside that time every night, they are less likely to get behind and will be more prepared in class and for tests or quizzes.
