Royal High School and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library have developed a partnership in education. This unique partnership has resulted in the Ronald Reagan Citizen Scholar Institute (RR CSI) at Royal High School. The RR CSI provides a superior civic education for all of the school’s students. Students complete a series of requirements (service learning, extracurricular activities, school governance, current events, and controversial issues) modeled directly from the Guardian of Democracy: The Civic Mission of Schools report. Greater civic knowledge and greater political engagement are the fruits of the program. Students from a wide-variety of demographic groups and with an even more varied range of interests are provided with unique and meaningful learning experiences. The award-winning RR CSI at Royal High School is leading the way in civics education for high schools across the country.

Diploma Seal Requirements
1. Complete an authentic service learning project
2. Submission and presentation of your project
3. Identify a mentor to supervise you in your project
4. Participate in school governance activities
5. Participate in extra-curricular activities
6. Participate in simulation of the democratic process
7. Successfully complete a minimum of one Social Science or Social Studies AP course at RHS
8. Join PTSA and attend one meeting
9. Attend five Brown Bag Lunch Speaker series
